1 Precious Life
“A terrorist is not created in his mother’s womb. It takes an environment of hatred to bring him into existence.”
– The Prophet of Peace, Maulana Wahiduddin Khan.
After about 8 days of Israel’s attack towards Gaza, a truce is agreed between Israel and Gaza’s Hamas. This is the memorable moment for both sides, especially Gazan when the total loss due to the attack is 157 innocent people, including children and women. I personally feel relieved to hear that they want to stop the attack so that no more life is lost just like that.
It is not only the Israeli Army (IDF) launched the attack. The Hamas military group also play their role to attack the Israel as a result of oppression by the Israel. Day by day, we can see that the Israeli are implementing various ways to get full control of Palestine.
I am pretty sure that the loss from the Israel side is less because they have the latest technologies to defend their country from Hamas’s attack. Compared to Israel, Palestin has limited resources as we can see that the supply of basic need in life, like the food and the medicine for example, are restricted to be supplied there. It is the most basic thing to have food and live a healthy life.
This is not a war per se. A war is declared between 2 parties or groups of equal strength and equipments. That is what we called war.
Human being is a perfect creation by God ever created. Yet, we are exposed to so many infectious agents in our daily life. Moreover, the increasing number of industry and vehicles serve a contributing factor for the pathogenesis of infectious diseases.
We may have the diseases if our immunity system cannot defend and fight the antigen. The antibody could be produced in insufficient amount to treat the conditions. So, we have to take certain medication to treat and prevent the occurrence of diseases.
The medication, or what we called as drug, is only a way to get rid of these outside antigen and reduce the sign and symptoms from getting worsen. If it is taken in appropriate quantity with regular interval, the drug is beneficial and harmless to the body (although there would be few side effects). If on the other hand, we exploit the usage, addiction could happen and serious toxicity would come as the additional packages.
We cannot say that medication is not important in our life. We need them when we fall sick, but it is not the ultimate and only choices that we have. Some prefer the homeopathy treatment with less side effects.
So, when the medicine supply is limited, there is less chance of survival of the Palestinian.
As the cease-fire already took place, we hope the situation in Gaza going to be better than before. At least no more emergency siren heard during this period of truce.
I want to end this post with some lyrics of Where Is The Love, by Black Eyed Peas :
“Nations dropping bombs,
Chemical gases filling lungs of little ones,
With the ongoing suffering as the youth die young.”
Let’s rethink and reflect ourselves for the better future.
